Brief Farm Descriptions

Riverbank Farm (Roxbury)- diversity of certified organic vegetables, cut flowers and hay. The farm uses no herbicides, synthetic fertilizers or synthetic pesticides.

Holcomb Farm (West Granby)- CSA, meaning "Community Supported Agriculture" is a membership program where people"join" the farm and in return for their membership and fee, they receive weekly packages of the farm's fresh produce. This not only supports local organic farms, but also provides people with high-quality, toxin free food.

Sport Hill Farm (Easton)- spring growing consists of leafy greens such as lettuce, arugula, and spinach; summer is tomatoes, corn, onions, garlic, eggplant, zucchini, cucumbers, beans, and other similar favorites.

Roby's Organic (Berlin)- flowers, fruits, herbs, and vegetables;

Guy's Eco-Garden (Shelton)- bedding plants, flowers, garlic, greenhouse, hay, herbs, salad greens, transplants, vegetables, vineyard, other special organic fertilizer mixes; participates in local farmer's markets as well as having a farm stand open 7 days/week using the honor system after dark.

Old Maid's Farm (South Glastonbury)- grows a variety of organic vegetables, organic herbs and organic berries; also featuring Heirloom and Vintage Variety Tomatoes. Specialties include Fresh Salsa made from our Certified Organic Tomatoes, Green and Red Bell Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers and Serrano Peppers; also bottled Fresh Tomato & Basil Pasta sauce made from our Certified Organic Heirloom and Vintage Variety Tomatoes, Basil and Garlic. Eggs are for sale year round.

Mountain View Farm (Kent)- fresh vegetables grown and sold to local markets, area restaurants, and direct farm pick-up; raspberries and maple syrup newly sold in spring 2009 as well as farm fresh eggs year-round.

Maple View Farm (Harwinton)- eggs, flowers, garlic, salad greens, vegetables, and small fruit; participate in local farmer's markets in Collinsville and Torrington.

Valchris Farm (Oakdale)- specializing in berries and fruit

Holbrook Farm (Bethel)- farm market and full-service bakery; chemical free growing of vegetables, cut flowers, herbs and berries. We sell fresh baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles and honey. Motto of "Shop where it grows!" for handpicked farm-fresh produce, dairy, and eggs.

Woodbridge Farm (Salem)- advanced biodynamic holistic methods of farming, which provide high nutritional values to pastures and crops by re-enlivening the soil and following the natural cycles of the earth. Vegetables can be eaten directly out of the garden; specializing in raising heritage cows, poultry, and pig with diets of only natural kelp, salt, and small amounts of minerals added as supplements to their lush salad grass, derived from enriched soil, pasture rotation, and regular composting methods.

Wrenhaven Farm (Woodstock)- Heirloom varieties of tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, melons our specialty. Self-service farm stand on the property open 7 days a week. Vendor to supermarkets and small businesses seeking gorgeous looking and tasty organic produce. Herbs plants both medicinal & culinary available including over many types of basil and lavenders.

White Gate Farm (East Lyme)- summer offers piles of tomatoes, squash, beans and peppers, there is a good selection of salad and braising greens in the depths of winter as well as potatoes, parsnips, Jerusalem artichokes, garlic and winter squash from our root cellar. Farm offers guided tours or open visitation. Specialized in seasonal 100% organic vegetables, fruits, poultry, and flowers.  Philosophy to enhance soil fertility and exclude chemical toxins from their growing methods.

Warrup's Farm (West Redding)- spring specializing in maple syrup, summer focusing on flowers and vegetables, and fall brings pumpkins, honey, and fresh apple cider. "We invite the public to participate in farming by visiting the farm during the seasons. We are advocates of locally grown produce and programs that support the community, including our school visit programs."

Sweet Wind Farm (East Hartland)- sugarhouse famous for maple syrup and other maple products; this farm includes "pick your own" (PYO crops will include blueberries, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, beans, peppers, flowers and more), homegrown farm stand (vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs), as well as participation in local farmer's markets with live entertainment and chef demonstrations (Simsmore Square, Simsbury).
