Focus Your Intentions
We live in a busy world with lots of noise and distractions. We start off dreaming of the ideal when we are kids and along the way, we get caught up with “to do” items and “shoulds” and grow distance between who we want to be and who we are showing up as.
Thinking Mostly about the Negatives
Many spend their time thinking about what they don’t want instead of what they do want. They have gotten into the habit of worrying that they don’t have enough….money, time, friends, health or love. If you are what you think about the most, what are you creating in your life? Not enough.
Positive Focus Brings Positive Change
If instead you focus on what you want for yourself and others, you create it. You create abundance. To make the shift in thought to create positive change, you first must be conscious to what you think about.
What thoughts or beliefs do you think about most often?
What would you like to have in your life?
What emotions are you longing to feel? In your mind, act and feel as if you have them already. What do you see?
Expect the Best
Many of us think that things are out of our reach ~ that things that we want are too hard to get/have. If you feel that something is out of your reach, that is what you attract, only things that are within your reach, things you settle for ~ things that you tolerate ~ not the real things you want. Expect the best and know that it will come to you or come to our world! If it’s change or peace that you want, set an intention for it and live as if you have it.
Know Your Why
Why are the things you desire important to you? In other words, what will having them do for you/others? What qualities/feelings would you have? This is your “why.” When you know your “why,” your intentions become clear and powerful.
Be Open to How Things Show Up
In other words, we have a tendency to expect “it” will show up by a certain date and will look a certain way. When you give up attachment to outcome, there is more room for what you desire to show up. What expectation could you give up to open the possibility for things to enter? (can apply this to each “I see”)
We often sacrifice happiness for things that the ego wants. Believe you deserve to be happy. It is the ultimate gift here in this life ~ perfect happiness. Remember that true happiness is sustained when we give that which we seek. Where and when are you giving happiness? If you want peace, are you spreading peace?
Choose thoughts that Create not Destroy
Acknowledge your negative thoughts kindly and then choose the thought that manifests your soulful desire. In other words, be kind to yourself as you make the shift to more positive thinking. I am not saying you will never have another negative thought. If you are what you think about the most however, are you creating a life that you want or are you negative wishing for things you don’t?
Appreciate every gift, whether it’s big or small. When you focus your energy on something, you create more of it. It’s one of the most important universal laws of manifesting. If you are grateful for “it”, you will receive more of “it”. The energy of appreciation is powerful! You can even be grateful for something that you don’t have yet in order to create it. What are you grateful for each day?
The Morning Intention
One of the easiest ways to integrate intention setting into your every day is to start with a morning intention. Right before you get out bed, when your mind is still in a dreamlike state, take pause and think about the experiences you want to have that day. Do you want to be happy, healthy and deeply connected to those you love? Do you want to have enough time to get everything important to you done? Set an intention for it. For example, “Today I have plenty of time, great health, happiness and deep connections with my family, friends and clients.”
Setting an intention is like setting an address in your GPS of life. You now have clear direction for where you want to go. Decisions for which way to turn are clearly marked.
We each can make a difference one choice, one thought at a time. You are what you think about most. What do you want your life and our world to be like?
